Everyone thinks their club is great and I’m no exception!!
We were really pleased with last years 4th place in the AAA champs but really wanted to see if we could go at least one better this year and pick up a medal winning place. As I said in one of my previous blogs, the possibility of doing well in the team event was one of the reasons I chose to do London again this year.
It was going to be a tough ask with only 3 of us on the champ start although they were the 3 same scorers from last year so we definitely had a chance if we could all pull out strong runs.
Sensible pacing was the required to ensure no blow ups by any of us and the graph below shows how the 3 of us faired against the rest of the field.
(Graph put together by Sharkey who has a bit of time on his hands what with not doing any training!!)
Still waiting for the official results but at present we are sitting pretty in the silver medal position behind Tipton. Not quite sure how far you have to go back to find BAC in a podium position in the AAA marathon champs but it has been a long time, very proud to be a part of the team that managed it.

Hi Steve, well done to you all. I think it was 1989, silver again, probably behind Tipton.
Cheers, John
Hi Guys, just to echo John’s sentiments and to offer my congratulations to you all for a fantastic team achievement in your silver medal placing, we did also place in the silver medal position in 1994 behind Basildon AC, if my memory serves me correctly. Think you were there to John?
Regards Mark
I thought you might know the answer John
I’m guessing your accumulated time was considerably faster!
